Love is...Love is depressing.
It's completely illogical and scares the crap out of me. There is no pattern to apply here. There is no sure fire way to make it work. It makes you want to slit your wrists and cry and jump into a mountain pool butt naked screaming in delight.
It makes me giggle.
Yes- you heard me. I GIGGLE WHEN HIS NAME IS MENTIONED.Like an idiotic twelve year old when a guy looks at her from accross the room.
It renders me speechless.
Everytime he goes and does something "cute". Yes, CUTE. Like saying "I love you" or "You look great" or bringing me a chocolate- a still completely intact chocolate despite the fact that he is as much a chocoholic as I am. These things rob me of my usually overbearing, overly loud voice. And of course my vocabulary.
Love makes me grin goofily...
And of course my lecturers notice. And think that I have gone insane. And keep looking at me with worry in their eyes, expressing their sympathy... And laughing at me behind my back.
It makes me fail maths...
Because suddenly an absolute value is his hands, integers are part of his personality, one times one is two and division is just plain...cruel...
Love makes me into a jealous possessive b*tch
Who wants to suddenly gauge out some other chick's eyes because she's THERE, with him, asking him for his OPINION while I'm stuck here, mourning the fact that I am unable to touch him... to hear his voice... to feel him here, next to me... that he can no longer be obstinately, painfully honest in his opinions about me... that I can no longer drag him on shopping sprees and force him into clothes...
Love is...
Trying to talk more quietly... stopping with random cussing... wearing skirts and dresses because he likes them... wearing no lipstick because he hates it... crying together on a kopje...
Love is making a fool out of me.
A hopelessly romantic fool. A hopelessly frightened fool. A hopelessly cynical fool. A plain old hopeless fool...
And yet...
Love is promising things you KNOW cannot be. Love is hope springing eternal. Love is wishing on the stars in your eyes. Love is knowin that, for now, there is someone who will hold you as you cry. Someone who will cry with you. Someone who you can face tomorrow- brief though it may be- with.
Love is a foolish farce, giving you hope.
Love is a fleeting thing.
Love is forever.
Love is a method of escape.
Love is not knowing how to say sorry any more.
Love is caring, comforting.
Love is harsh and hurtful.
Love mends your heart.
Love loves tearing it to pieces.
Love...
Love is a contradiction.
And I LOVE it.
